Museum Teacher
We are continuously searching for qualified Museum
Teachers. If you are interested in this position,

Responsible to: Director of Education
Position Purpose:
- To provide educational experiences for students,
scouts or other museum visitors by interpreting
the daily lives of eighteenth-century Americans,
the life of Noah Webster and the history of West
Hartford
- To work as a team member with other staff and
volunteers to ensure that the Noah Webster House
meets its mission of providing the highest quality
educational experiences to all visitors and preserving
the material culture with which it is entrusted.
Primary Responsibilities:
- provides accurate programs for schools, scouts,
and other groups in period clothing both on-
and off-site
- provides direct and hands-on experience through
interaction with students of varying ages and
grades
- completes set-up and clean-up for programs
as scheduled
- attends training sessions and other scheduled
meetings
Other Opportunities:
While not required, other opportunities may include:
- teaching summer camp
- providing tours for walk-in visitors or groups
- assisting with public programs
Qualifications:
- Teaching experience highly desirable
- Interest/experience in history and/or museums
- Friendly and energetic disposition
- Available to work flexible hours, especially
but not limited to the morning
Position Details:
The position of Museum Teacher is part-time with
flexible hours. Hourly rate per scheduled hours,
plus travel reimbursement for distance traveled
to and from outreach programs, to be paid bi-weekly.
