Brian Colbath Exhibit Opening:
"Our Lives, Other Lives"
The Noah Webster House & West Hartford Historical Society presents the original works of West Hartford artist Brian Colbath. The exhibit opens with a reception on Wednesday, May 23 at 6 p.m. The exhibit, entitled "Our Lives, Other Lives" focuses on a recent trip to the Philippines. In keeping with the theme, the Pilipino Association of Connecticut, Incorporated (PACI), will provide traditional Filipino music, dance, & cuisine.
Brian Colbath has been drawing, painting, and creating in a variety of mediums since early childhood. His work has been featured and shown at the Phoenix Gallery in Hartford, Partition 942 Gallery in Hartford, Frameworks Gallery in Manchester, Gallery 111, the Capitol and the Senate Minority Conference Room at the Legislative Office Building, the Art and Frame Gallery in Rocky Hill, the Salt Box Gallery in West Hartford, and the Reader's Feast Bookstore Cafe' in Hartford. Additionally, Brian has participated in numerous juried art shows.
Brian has completed numerous assignments for area businesses, architects, developers, homeowners, friends, and art lovers alike. His most recent endeavors have included the creation of several bold, life-size murals depicting scenes from meadows, tropical islands, English country gardens, and more. In addition to these traditional artistic endeavors, he has received awards and recognition for his ice sculpting abilities, original landscaping creativity.
Colbath's work will be at the museum through the summer and can be seen Thursday through Sunday from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m.
