The Noah Webster House & West Hartford Historical Society offers public programs and events year-round for both children and adults. From exhibit openings to Tavern Nights and kids programs, there is something for everyone. Check back often for updates as some programs may change. Reservations are required for some events. Paper Crafting Workshop, Thursday, May 3 from 1-3 p.m.
The Noah Webster House & West Hartford Historical Society
Participants will make a monogrammed card and a small decorated gift bag. Local artisan Angela Maine will lead the workshop. She has been creating paper cards and gifts for several years. Mother's Day Tea: Sunday, May 13, 1-3 p.m.
Treat mom (or anyone!) to an afternoon of historical relaxation at the Noah Webster House this Mother's Day. Guests will enjoy afternoon tea, relaxing music, and a performance by Kandie Carle, The Victorian Lady. Click here for more information.
Poetry Read-In: Friday, May 18, 7 p.m.
Brad Davis and Ginny Lowe Connors lead this evening of poetry. Open mic following.
Hosted by Poet Laureate Emeritus Maria Sassi. Sign-up sheets will be available at 6:30. Light
refreshments will be served. Free and open to all! (Donations gratefully accepted)
Exhibit Opening: Wednesday, May 23, 6 p.m.
Local artist Brian Colbath's new exhibit, "Scenes from the Philippines" features images from his recent trip to that country. The Pilipino Association of Connecticut will offer singing, dancing, traditional clothing, and traditional foods. Join us for this exciting evening!
Annual Tag Sale: Saturday, June 9, 8 a.m.-1 p.m.
Get some great deals and support a great cause at the same time! Clean, usable donations accepted from May 14 to June 7 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 1-4 p.m. on weekends. Due to space constraints, large furniture, appliances, or computers cannot be accepted. Photographs of large items, including contact information and price may be submitted to the museum. Contradance: Saturday, June 16, 7 p.m.
Dance master Jim Gregory leads this evening of delightful and elegant historical dancing. Live music accompanies. New dancers are welcome, as are the experienced! $8 per person at the door- reservations are not required. Colonial costume encouraged. Hosted by Noah's New Americans History Club.
