Looking for a special site for your child’s birthday party? The Noah Webster House is the place. The museum is the perfect venue for a fun and unique party for boys and girls ages 6-12. A Colonial Birthday Party
Okay, so birthdays weren’t really important in Colonial times...but they’re important to us! At a Noah Webster House Colonial Birthday Party, you and your guests get to:
- Dress in colonial costumes
- Play colonial games
- Learn a colonial dance or have free-play in Noah’s Discovery Learning Space
- Prepare a colonial snack (crullers, apple cider or lemonade)
- Do hands-on activities in the historic house, including carding wool and weaving
Cost: $150 for up to 10 children and 2 adults. Additional children are $15 each; additional adults are $10 each. Due to space constraints, we cannot accommodate more than 15 children and 4 adults
A Birthday Tea
Celebrate your special day Victorian-style. Using the historic house and modern museum facilities, you and your guests get to:
- Play traditional Parlor games, such as Pass the Slipper, Look About, Feather and the Laughing Game
- Make your choice of craft projects: decoupage a glass jar and fill it with colorful paper flowers; or (choose two) sachet, necklace, pin cushion, sampler
- Learn the manners and etiquette used in Victorian days
- Wear fancy hats and gloves and use our beautiful china tea cups at a tea party serving assorted tea and cookies

A Gingerbread Birthday 
Gingerbread houses aren’t just for the holidays... Using Sweet Domestics® designs and recipe, you and your guest get to:
- Design and build your dream house out of freshly baked gingerbread, icing and lots of candy! Our museum teachers will be there to instruct and assist and will provide all the necessary materials and supplies.
- Try your hand at various traditional games, such as Lucy Lockett, Charades and Blind Man’s Bluff and play with colonial toys, such as Jacob’s Ladders, Ball & Cups, and Button Buzzers.
Cost: $200 for up to 10 children and 2 adults. Additional children are $20 each; additional adults are $10 each. Due to space constraints, we cannot accommodate more than 20 children and 6 adults.
General Information
All Birthday Parties are designed for boys and girls ages 7-12.
Birthday Parties are 2 hours: 1 1/2 hours of instruction; last 1/2 hour is yours to open presents, eat cake, etc.
Parties are typically scheduled on Saturday mornings and weekday evenings. Special arrangements may be made for other days and times.
The museum provides all supplies, costumes, and games. You supply any other refreshments and all paper goods for the party. A refrigerator and freezer are available for your use. Please note that decorations are allowed only on the tables.
Upon booking, a $50 deposit is required to guarantee your reservation. The balance is due the day of the party. A 48-hour notice of cancellation is required to receive full refund. Members of the Noah Webster House receive a 10% discount.
