Noah Webster House in West Hartford CT

Visiting the Museum

Saturday, June 13: CT Open House Day! Free Admission from noon-4 p.m. Stop in to see the first floor of the house, try out our tablet tour, check out our great interactive exhibits, see our beautiful garden, and enjoy history at its finest!

To fully experience the Noah Webster House and museum, we recommend that you reserve an hour or two for your visit.

Guests have the opportunity to enjoy an orientation film (Noah Webster: Schoolmaster of America) in our 19th-century schoolhouse theater. You can also explore our exhibit Noah Webster: Defining American; after that, enjoy a tour of Webster’s birthplace with one of our experienced guides or via our new tablet tour.  Family groups will not want to miss Noah’s Discovery Learning Space – three rooms of fun hands-on activities that explore young Webster’s life and 18th-century America.

Save some time for one of our changing exhibits and our gift shop featuring Noah Webster and West Hartford related items. And if you have time in town, visit West Hartford Center which features Blue Back Square (named after Webster’s Blue-Backed Speller) and Webster Walk.

We are located one mile north of I-84 from exit 41 east or west; follow the signs to the Noah Webster House. Our address is 227 South Main Street, West Hartford, CT 06107 USA
