Visiting the Museum
If you are taking one of our public tours, we recommend that you reserve 60 - 90 minutes to see the museum. Your experience begins when you arrive in our newly remodeled Visitor Reception Center. Once there, you will have the opportunity to enjoy the orientation film Noah Webster: Schoolmaster of America in our 19th-century schoolhouse theater. You can also explore our recently completed exhibit Noah Webster: Defining American; after that, enjoy a tour of Webster’s birthplace with one of our costumed guides. Family groups will not want to miss Noah’s Discovery Learning Space – three rooms of fun hands-on activities that explore young Webster’s life and 18th-century America. The traveling exhibit West Hartford: A-Z, an eye-opening exhibit that explores the rich heritage of our town, is on-site for a portion of the year.
Save some time for one of our changing exhibits and our gift shop featuring Noah Webster and West Hartford related items.
