Trivia Night

What profession would the Dalai Lama have pursued had he not become a monk? What was President Abraham incoln's favorite sport? In what year was the word 'sheeple' first recorded?

Whether or not you know the answers to the questions above, you are bound to have a rip-roaring good time at the Noah Webster House & West Hartford Historical Society's second trivia night. The quiz will take place at the museum on Thursday, August 31, 2017 at 6:30 p.m. Upon arrival, trivia friends and foes will be asked to create team names. The game will start promptly at 7 p.m.

This quiz consists of six rounds of general knowledge questions. Each round will be themed, and the questions will be under lock and key until quiz time. The quizmaster requests that no more than four people be on one team. Individuals may participate without teammates.

The Noah Webster House & West Hartford Historical Society is proud to preserve the birthplace of famed lexicographer, Noah Webster. He was passionate about attaining and retaining knowledge, as well as sharing it with his community. His 1828 American Dictionary of the English Language and Blue-Backed Speller are shining examples of his ingenuity. What better way to honor his memory than to test your own knowledge side-by-side with fellow members of your community?

The top two teams will receive prizes and unlimited bragging rights. The winners in last place may choose consolation prizes from 'Webster's Lackluster Library,' the museum's traveling collection of books with dreadful cover art and so-bad-they-just-might-be-good plots.

For those registering in advance (through August 24) there will be a $5 per person admission rate. After August 24, ticket prices go up to $10 per person. Advanced registration is recommended. Visit noahwebster.yapsody.com to save your seat. There will be a cash bar. Feel free to bring your own bar bites!
